Major featuring difference from those of predecessors in the industry is that it is the world’s first windmill that changes shape adjusting to the wind. While equipped with the conventional aerodynamic wing-shaped blades, it is characterized by the existence of a secondary blade that is attached at the tail to form a Savonius shaped pocket at start-up to low wind speed situation. It assists in converting drag to rotation energy. When rotation/wind speed ratio achieves beyond 1, the secondary blade straightens so that the total body of the blade becomes a conventional Darrieus-giromill shape, utilizing lift, increasing the rotational energy.
